Multiple wards at Sligo University Hospital are impacted by flu and Covid 19 outbreaks.

Management at the hospital are urging the public to consider all care options as it deals with very high attendances.

Sligo University Hospital continues to treat a high number of patients with winter respiratory illnesses.

The hospital is currently managing 15 patients with flu, 4 with COVID and 12 with RSV.

Multiple wards in the hospital are impacted by outbreaks and management are reminding the public to please comply with infection control measures to protect vulnerable patients.

They are also urging the public to use alternative healthcare services for treatment such as Pharmacies, GP, GP Out of Hours and the Roscommon Injury Unit when appropriate.

Emergency Departments are always available to treat seriously ill patients, and the sickest patients are seen first. People with less severe injuries and symptoms may have to wait to be seen.
