The Ramelton Art Group is delighted to present a new exhibition, titled ‘Precious Moments, Places & People: Reminiscence, Nostalgia & Wonder’, at the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny.
The show officially opened on Thursday 15 January at 6.30pm and runs until Saturday 21 February 2026.
Founded in 2019 by Mary Lynch, the Ramelton Art Group meets weekly in Ramelton Town Hall, bringing together creativity, community, and connection. This exhibition showcases a vibrant selection of works created by members of the group, reflecting shared memories, meaningful places, and the simple wonder found in everyday life.
Working primarily in oil on canvas, the artists also present a selection of pastel works. Styles range from realistic to abstract, with landscapes and skyscapes inspired by locations stretching from Donegal to Cork.

Alongside their regular coaching sessions, group members draw inspiration from visits to the studios of established Donegal artists, including Stephen Bennett, Ros Harvey, Tim Stampton and Sinéad Smith, helping deepen their passion for painting and strengthen their connection to the local arts scene.
For many members, the Ramelton Art Group is about more than making art; it is a space for friendship, wellbeing, and shared creativity, offering both social and therapeutic benefits.
Mary Lynch, founder and organiser of the group, said: “This exhibition is a celebration of the joy of painting together. It’s about friendship, confidence, and discovering that creativity doesn’t have an age limit. We hope visitors feel the warmth and memories that went into every piece.
“Through this exhibition, the Ramelton Art Group hopes to inspire others, particularly those in post-retirement life, to explore art as a fulfilling creative and social hobby”.
