The central point of contact in the Honor Magic8 Pro system is the “Honor Eye Comfort Display” menu item, where all additional functions can be controlled directly. In addition to high-frequency PWM dimming, which can be operated at both 3,840 Hz and 4,320 Hz at low display brightness, there are also common functions such as “Natural Tone,” which adjusts the screen colors to the ambient light. This results in a warmer display, as the proportion of blue light is reduced. The “Circadian Night Display” works in a similar way, designed to reduce the suppression of sleep hormones in the evening. There is also a configurable Dark Mode so that the display shows content in a darker tone in the evening, which most other Android smartphones also offer.
On the hardware side, the Honor Magic8 Pro also has a circularly polarized display. With the help of special optical layers, the emitted light is converted into circularly polarized light. This reduces annoying reflections on the display surface and further relieves strain on the eyes.
