A little-known forest spa tucked inside a leisure centre along the A322 is offering a morning of free activities, designed to showcase the wide range of sessions available.

Taking place at Bracknell Leisure Centre near Bagshot in west Surrey, the special Activity and Wellness Day takes place on January 31, and anyone is welcome to go along.

Managed by Everyone Active in partnership with Bracknell Forest Council, the event will run from 9am to 12pm, and aims to encourage residents of all ages and abilities to get active, try something new and focus on wellbeing this new year.

Throughout the morning, visitors will enjoy free access to the gym, swimming pools and spa named after the beautiful Swinley Forest just up the road from it.

Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a group taster session, which will feature a live DJ and a rotating circuit of group exercise sessions.

Each activity will run for 20 minutes, giving participants the chance to experience classes such as dance fitness, group cycling and boot camp.

The session will conclude with a breathing class, offering a calm and restorative end to the workout.

Throughout the morning, the gym programme will include a range of dedicated support sessions, such as women’s-only support sessions, strength and cardio support, free weights guidance, functional training support and a senior circuit session, showcasing how participants of all ages and abilities are supported to feel confident and comfortable in the gym environment.

Mark Tennant, contract manager at Everyone Active, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming the local community for a morning packed with free activities.

“It’s a great opportunity for people to try something new, focus on their wellbeing and discover everything Bracknell Leisure Centre has to offer.”

Councillor Iskandar Jefferies, cabinet member for leisure, culture, public protection and democracy at Bracknell Forest Council, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our local community to try a variety of activities for free and to explore the facilities offered at our leisure centre.

“I encourage residents to come along, get active, and find something new to support their health and wellbeing.”
