Early this morning (Jan 20), the RedMagic 11 Air made its grand debut in China, arriving with ambitions for the big stage in Esports and “elevated performance.” Make no mistake, this is a (handheld) mobile gaming-focused phone that RedMagic states it has pushed to the limit with “elite” capabilities and a cooling system.
In a press release, the company confirms the RedMagic 11 Air features a 6.8-inch, 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate. RedMagic claims to have elevated its phone with an extremely narrow 1.25mm bezel and a 95.1% screen-to-body ratio. In short, your viewing experience is “immersive,” according to RedMagic, with minimal borders.

The 11 Air’s gaming prowess advances, as the post states its touch sampling reaches 250Hz, while its multi-finger tracking reaches 960Hz. This essentially ensures (or at least tries to) that every touch on the screen is recognized and put into action.
Internally, consumers can expect quick LPDDR5X ULTRA RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. RedMagic says that, in tandem, its included RAM and storage help with multitasking, heavy toll responsiveness, and smooth gameplay. There’s support for 2K 144Hz rendering for roughly 200 mobile games available right now. However, there’s a little hardware gift: shoulder triggers. RedMagic says these triggers feature a 520Hz response rate, delivering “precision” for MOBAs, FPS, and ARPG titles.

The latest gaming phone features the REDMAGIC Energy Cube 3.0 engine with “millisecond-level intelligent scheduling.” It’s stated that this engine works to optimize “the coordination of performance, graphics, frame rate, and power consumption for maximum efficiency.”
The phone’s cooling system is another aspect that’s turning heads. The company highlights that this is the first Air-series model to feature the Turbo Fan 4.0. This fan can reach heights of 24,000 RPM, and its redesigned fan blades facilitate a much cooler air flow by 21% with a 40% sweep area. This fan for the device is pretty quiet, meaning users can cool down their phone even better and stay hushed while doing so.
The RedMagic 11 Air isn’t all about gaming—you can take photos, too. The phone sports a dual camera system, featuring a 50MP OIS (optical image stabilization) and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The company’s REDMAGIC OS 11 leans on its AI software for the 11 Air to create a more useful device from the ground up. Users will have access to AI Object Recognition, AI Screen Search, and Tactical Coach for real-time strategic guidance while playing.

As previously stated, the RedMagic 11 Air launched in China earlier today (Jan 20). With that, the phone starts at 3,699 RMB, which is roughly $530. This is broken down by RAM/storage configs, meaning the 12/256GB variant is at this 3,699 RMB (~$530) price. RedMagic kicks things up a little for its 16/512GB for 4,399 RMB (~$630). This device is available in white and black.
It’s worth noting that these prices might change should the RedMagic 11 Air see a global launch and arrive in the U.S. They’re just guestimates for now. Speaking of a global release, RedMagic says it plans to formally announce when others may see the phone on January 29.
