TRALEE Bay Wetlands Ecology Park is inviting the public to join a special full-day programme on Monday, February 2, to celebrate World Wetlands Day 2026, honouring this year’s international theme of “Wetlands and Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating Cultural Heritage.”
World Wetlands Day is celebrated globally each year on February 2 to mark the signing of the Ramsar Convention and to recognise the vital role wetlands play in supporting biodiversity, climate resilience, and cultural heritage.
At Tralee Bay Wetlands Ecology Park, the day will celebrate not only the ecological value of wetlands, but also the traditional knowledge, lived experience, and cultural connections that have shaped our relationship with these landscapes for generations.
