We know, we know.
It has been a long month, and there is nothing more we want to do than to swipe that card and buy those “I deserve it” purchases.
But while it is fine to spend to treat yourself a little bit (the keyword being little, not treat), there are a few don’ts when it comes to spending your Januworry salary.
Don’t spend all of it in one go
While it might sound obvious, spending it all in one go is one way to ensure you don’t have anything by February’s payday.
Consider your bills, your expenses, and your savings before your fingers start typing that card and CVV numbers.
Don’t put all your eggs in too many baskets…well, carts
If you are going to ‘treat yourself’, limit the retailers. If you can find everything you want or need in one or two places, it’s better than doing several ‘small-not-so-small’ shopping sprees at different places.
Don’t forget your bills and health
It is easy to go on a bit of a spree on January’s payday, because everyone is returning to their daily lives, so why not just enjoy yourself, right? There is obviously nothing wrong with enjoying oneself, but don’t forget the important things like bills, healthcare (if needed) and things that demand your urgent attention.
Don’t spend too much on food and takeaway
If you have to spend money, don’t spend too much on takeaway. While it is definitely more convenient, ordering out is more expensive and you will make it harder for yourself to stick to your New Year’s resolution of ‘Be fit or lose weight’.
