Former Bollywood actress Rimi Sen, who has transitioned into a career as a real estate agent in Dubai, recently spoke about personal growth, career reinvention and the importance of understanding one’s limitations during a podcast with YouTube channel Buildcaps Real Estate. During the conversation, Rimi reflected on how acknowledging weaknesses — rather than only focusing on strengths — can shape long-term success. Drawing from her observations in the film industry, she cited John Abraham as an example of someone who used self-awareness strategically while building his career.

“I feel that human beings usually focus on their positive points. But the person who understands their limitations — who knows this is my problem — and works on it, goes very far in life,” she said.
Speaking about John Abraham’s early years in Bollywood, Rimi recalled that he was initially criticised for his acting skills. “In the beginning of his career, he was a model. People used to say that he couldn’t act. He didn’t react to that. Instead, he chose roles where he looked convincing — roles that didn’t demand heavy acting,” she explained.
According to Rimi, Abraham consciously selected parts, particularly in action films, where his screen presence worked in his favour. “He chose roles where he looked right, where the audience didn’t feel like, ‘What is he doing?’ That, in my opinion, was very intelligent,” she said.
She further noted that once Abraham established his identity and became more recognisable, his approach evolved. “When people start knowing you, gradually, with experience, you learn acting anyway. You become more comfortable in front of the camera. After that, he took roles that gave him scope to act,” she added.
Calling his choices “strategic,” Rimi said Abraham was aware of his limitations and made decisions accordingly. “I know him personally, and I felt he was a very intelligent actor. Whatever moves he made were the right ones,” she said.
Rimi also pointed out how Abraham expanded beyond acting, becoming a producer and businessman. “He entered production, gave hit films, and those films also had strong credibility. So a person who understands their limitations and works on them goes very far,” she concluded.
