Former glamour model Katie Price has admitted she was ‘horrified’ by her ‘gaunt’ looks as photographs emerged of her out and about with daughter Princess last week.
The mum of five, 47, was snapped out and about with daughter Princess, 18, as the pair took a trip to swanky central London department store Selfridges. Sadly, the fun outing was overshadowed with concern as fans shared their worries over Katie’s appearance, following her recent weight loss.
As her daughter Princess shared a video of the mother-daughter shopping trip on her Instagram page, the comments were flooded with messages focussing on worries about Katie’s health. Now, days after the images emerged online, Katie has spoken out revealing she was ‘horrified’ when she saw the snaps and has now decided to seek medical help to understand her recent weight loss.
Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, the former glamour model was asked by her sister and co-host Sophie: “Shall we have a little chat about those pictures with you and Princess at Selfridges because that seems to be doing the rounds everywhere at the minute.”

Katie responded: “First of all we didn’t see a photographer, it was p**sing down with rain and we were running to the train. When I saw them pictures I was horrified, they’ve doctored them pictures. My face don’t look bad like that. I know I look gaunt but Jesus. But yeah I look like I’m ill – hence why I’m going to the doctors tomorrow. I don’t know how many times I have to say to people, ‘Yes I know I’ve lost weight,’ and there’s obviously a reason I said it to the doctor.”
Sophie then asked: What is the actual truth behind it?” Katie replied: “I know what you family say to me and it’s not what the papers are saying. We all know that we’re trying to sort it all out and as soon as I know then I’ll let everyone know. But because I look so bad it’s had an influence and I’ve had filler put in my face which I didn’t want to do.” Katie added: “I just wanna put on weight, I really do but I’m just not. Everyone knows I eat – I eat everything that I want, I’ve never had a problem with what I eat.”
Earlier in the podcast, titled Weight Loss Scrutiny, Katie had revealed she had booked a doctors appointment and will be undertaking a blood test as her sister Sophie grilled her on if she had been looking after herself. Sophie asked the model: “What else have you been doing apart from the non-surgery surgical, have you been eating well? Have you been taking your vitamins? Have you been drinking water?” Katie replied: “I’ve been drinking lots of water because I’ve got a blood test tomorrow, so I’ll get the results back.”

Just last month, a source revealed the the Mirror Katie’s family were concerned for the star’s health after she was seen looking unsteady on her feet while stepping out with friends at Yasmin Oukhellou’s launch event for her business. A source close to Katie has expressed their concern over her weight loss and admits that the family have “honest” conversations with her about the star’s well-being. Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: “They do share their concerns with Kate and have open, honest conversations with her about how she’s feeling – including her mental health and her weight loss.
“Those conversations come from a place of love, care and support, and they remain private within the family. What people too often forget is just how much Kate has been through and how much she has already overcome. Her well-being is, and always will be, the priority, and it’s something she is actively working on.” Responding to recent coverage from alleged friends of Kate who said that her weight loss was “absolutely devastating” and was extremely severe, our source added: “It was quite frankly completely unnecessary.
“It was cruel, hurtful and deeply insensitive, and it reduced a very real, very personal journey into a sensationalised narrative. There was no consideration for the impact those words might have, not just on Kate, but on her family too.”
Elsewhere in the podcast mum Katie revealed her ‘tough’ week with son Harvey, 23, as he went back to his temporary accommodation ahead of his move down the road from his mum. Harvey has a string of health issues including Prader-Willi Syndrome, septo-optic dysplasia, autism, ADHD, and cortisol deficiency. And after staying with Katie recently, the mum revealed he found the transition unsettling.

Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast, Katie explained: “I’ve had Harvey as well the past two weeks and he’s not been good. He didn’t want to go, crying, it reminded me of when he was younger so he threw my bedroom furniture about. You know my tropical lights with the big bulbs – I’ve got two – smashed that. And then when he got to… oh completely smashed his iPad like it’s not even fixable. Then, they weren’t even gonna take him in the car to take him to the train station because he was that bad. Then all week I’ve had messages from where he is. They’ve got massive big windows in his room and they’ve made them – not bullet-proof but Harvey-proof – he’s popped two of them out, broke another iPad that he got. All because, I said, ‘What’s caused it’ and they said, ‘Because he wants you’. He just loves being at home with me.”
Katie then revealed they’re looking at Harvey’s new place “next week” as she added: “And he just goes ‘Little Hampton and Mummy’ he hates it there he just wants to see me every day and stuff. So it’s been a tough week with Harvey.”
