The Fair City star has announced on social media that he is expecting another child with his partner later this year – the couple are already parents to eight children

Fair City star Gerard Jordan has announced that he is set to welcome his ninth child later this year.
The actor, who plays Steo Nash on the RTE soap, welcomed his eighth child with his partner Jo last year.
The couple met 12 years ago and are parents to Jasper, Hugo, River, Sage, Saint, Zen, Enzo and Halo.
Taking to social media, he shared a video of his partner Jo’s baby bump, an ultrasound and a vest that reads “baby 2026”. In the caption, he wrote: “Baby number 9….”
The comments were flooded with kind messages from followers, as one person wrote: “Congratulations what an incredible family! Especially your wife.”
“Congrats bro, nice mini bus for the garden now sorted,” another joked.
“Amazing congratulations but you deffo have to go for 10,” a third said.
Gerard became a father for the first time at 25 years old.

“I know 25 seems young, but we were very mature in the decision and [knew] what we wanted at that time,” he told the Irish Independent last year. “Ever since I became a dad, it’s not about me anymore, it’s about them, so I put them first before anything I do. Patience is the key.
“You just have to be really flexible with everything. You know yourself, they get sick out of nowhere. You have to be prepared for that.
“And then it’s a knock-on effect with the other kids. So you just have to be ready, ready for the unexpected.
“If you are going to have a big family, you have to circle your life around the children… it is difficult, but you’ve got to give up going out with your friends so you can really focus on your kids.”
He added: “I have always loved the idea of a full, lively home. The kind of place where there is always laughing or someone needing a snack or needing something.”
