This was a very one sided game on a heavy Celtic Park pitch and in short it was a total mismatch as the slick and deadly accurate visitors from the Kingdom had the game won in the first few minutes.
For Derry, whose constant turnover of players disrupted the game, it was a chastening experience. They were minus twelve of last year’s panel and had only seven players on the field who played in last year’s Christy Ring Cup final. Kerry would have won by more had it not been for keeper Eoin Mulholland who pulled of a number of stunning saves.
