A teenage old girl has been critically injured after she was struck by a scrambler in west Dublin.

It is understood the young girl was struck by the scrambler bike, which was being driven by a teen on Ratoath Road in Finglas at around lunchtime today.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene – including a number of ambulances from Dublin Fire Brigade.

Crowds of shocked locals gathered around the area as officers sealed off the road and paramedics tended to the injured girl.

There are fears for the girl’s welfare, and at this time gardai are not commenting regarding that aspect.

Asked for comment, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told The Irish Mirror: “Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on Ratoath Road, Finglas, Dublin 11 this afternoon, Sunday 25th January 2026.

“The road is currently closed.”

“As this is an ongoing incident there is no further information available at this time.”
