The Tile tracker attaches onto keyrings(Image: )
Designed to track belongings, Bluetooth trackers are being snapped up to place on keyrings, in wallets or hidden in suitcases, just in case the item they’re attached to gets lost. Apple’s AirTag is one of the bigger names out there, but one much more affordable rival has users saying ‘they couldn’t be without it’.
The Tile Mate tracker already has one up over the AirTag as it works with both iPhone and Android devices, as well as Google, Siri, and Alexa. This tiny device can be attached to belongings, and it pings locations to users’ devices.
Already much more budget-friendly at £19.99, we’ve found a way to cut this nifty gadget even further, ideal for anyone going away this coming half term. Thanks to a lesser-known deal, it plummets to £4.81 effectively, through deals site TopCashback.
For those unfamiliar, the site pays consumers a proportion of money back when they buy a product through its links, including a £15 sign-up bonus. Which is what cuts the price by £15.18 without it actually being on sale, the £4.81 after cashback price is for new members of TopCashback and new customers of Argos.
The Tile tracker also activates an alarm when lost, which can be activated through the app when a user notices that they’ve lost the item it’s connected to. Down to its two-way finding feature.

The Tile device tracks items when used with the mobile Tile App. It’s one of the most verstaile finders on the marker, compatible with iOS and Android and can be used with Siri and Google.
“I bought two of these, one each for my sons, as they lose their car keys, and they were very pleased”, commented one shopper who highlighted that the ‘GPS tracker was easy to use’. They continued to say: “I already had a few of these and couldn’t be without.”
Another said: “Such a good high-quality product. I’ve had mine for a year, and this is my second. Have tracked my keys on the bus I left, went half an hour away.”
At Argos, all the reviews are positive, with no gripes highlighted by shoppers, but as someone who’s compared a lot of similar devices, I can say there’s something it doesn’t offer. From Samsung to the AirTag to Chipolo, and the UGREEN tracker.
The SmartTag2 has a removable battery, unlike the Tile, so users can replace it once it runs out. Even better is the UGREEN Fine Track Smart Finder, priced at £14.99. This is rechargeable, one of the only models on the market that offers this and the reason I branded it as having a ‘feature Apple can’t match’ during my review.
