Anna Downey had been waiting for a clear TB test before returning to the family dairy farm full-time. But after repeated outbreaks wiped out more than 70 cows, she decided to take the plunge anyway.

Over the past two years, Anna and her father, Hugh, have seen their herd nearly halve on their Dromore, Co Down farm. They currently run 130 pedigree Holstein Friesian cows, with plans to rebuild to 180.
