Interest rates in Irish legacy banks aren’t particularly enticing for savers, so are there other avenues that will get you more bang for your buck? And are European banks ever as secure as the familiar ones at home?

Dan Malone is a regular contributor to Indo Money, and the qualified financial adviser and accountant has just launched Honest.ie, where he hopes to start building that missing culture.
“ You know, nothing grows in the comfort zone. So a big mission of mine and a big mission of Honest.ie, is keeping the conversation going and making people aware that their own individual person and their own individual circumstances matter,” he says.
As Mr Malone sees it, we need to embrace greater financial literacy in Ireland so as to ensure people are making educated decisions about where they put their money.
