Listowel’s Breda Slemon is a very proud woman this week after the former Listowel Celtic soccer player finally got her hands on her long-awaited Irish international cap, 34 years after she lined out for her country.
It was back in January of 1992 that Breda took to the field with the Irish Women’s U18 team that played against Australia in Tolka Park but it wouldn’t be until January of 2026 that she would finally get her physical memento of one of the proudest moments of her sporting career.
