If, sometime back, anyone ever wondered where Henry Cavill’s Highlander was at, there was never a concrete answer – Chad Stahelski’s ambitious project has long been in development, marred by constant delays. But now, we have proof that Cavill’s Highlander is really a thing.

Recently, Man of Steel star Cavill took to Instagram to share his first look as the sword-wielding immortal Scottish warrior Connor MacLeod.

“Happy First Look for Highlander! This has been quite the journey for me, which I’ll tell you all about when the time is right, but it’s a special moment to be able to share this. I hope you enjoy,” wrote Cavill, attaching the shots of his look.

Indeed, it had been a journey for Cavill. The actor sustained an injury during training for the project, pushing production to 2026, which was originally slated for last fall.

Apart from Cavill, the cast includes the likes of Russell Crowe, Jeremy Irons, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Dave Bautista, and Max Zhang.

Written by Michael Finch and directed by Chad Stahelski, the film was eyeing a 2027 or 2028 release window, though there’s no official confirmation from Amazon yet.
