The Phoenix Suns‘ star Devin Booker and his former girlfriend, fashion model Kendall Jenner, ignited a social media frenzy after their flirtatious online exchange joking about her Super Bowl 60 winner prediction.
Jenner appeared on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday, Jan. 28, and told Fallon after her phone call to Tom Brady while on the show that she chose his former team, the New England Patriots, to beat the Seattle Seahawks. The NFL championship game airs Feb. 8 on NBC.
Jenner also promoted her Fanatics Sportsbook partnership for their Super Bowl campaign’s commercial about the “Kardashian Curse,” a running joke about Jenner and her Kardashian sisters bringing bad luck to pro athletes they’ve dated.
Fanatics founder and CEO Michael Rubin posted the video clip of Jenner’s Fallon guest spot with the caption, “Are you betting with or against @kendalljenner on @fanaticssportsbook? Will the Kurse (sic) continue?”
Booker, currently sidelined with a right ankle sprain, then posted a funny comment on Thursday, Jan. 29, with a hug emoji about their relationship, “I bet a million the Seahawks get that ring before you do.”
Jenner replied with an eye-roll emoji and wrote, “How’s the ankle?”
Booker, who’s been sidelined with the injury since the Suns’ lost at Atlanta on Jan. 23, replied, “Come rub it.”
The two dated from around 2020 to 2022 before parting ways.
In Jenner’s Fanatics Sportsbook commercial, she alludes to dating Booker while striking a match to burn a basket of clothes.
“Any basketball player who dates me kind of hits a … rough patch,” Jenner said with a shrug.
Booker has led the Suns to a 28-19 record. They lost two straight before their 106-102 home win against the Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 27. Booker will be out for a third straight game when they face the Eastern Conference’s top team, the Detroit Pistons, on Thursday.
