Claudia Jessie is making the ton reach for their smelling salts.
The Bridgerton star wasn’t afraid to confess more intimate details about her personal life, joking that her dating habits are a far cry from that of her character Eloise Bridgerton, who has yet to have a sex scene on the Netflix show—unlike her siblings Francesca (Hannah Dodd) and Colin (Luke Newton), who are happily married by the time season four part one dropped Jan. 29.
“It’s funny though,’” Claudia joked with AP during a joint interview with Hannah and Luke published Jan. 29, “cause in real life I’m having more sex than both of them.”
The confession left her costars stunned, as Claudia—who was dating casting director Cole Edwards as of 2024—exclaimed, “Get that.”
“I’ve managed to get to 36 years old without ever doing a sex scene,” she added. “Dunno what that says about my type of casting. Highly unf–kable.”

Still, she is well aware of the fact that those very scenes await her during future seasons, as Eloise becomes the leading lady in Julia Quinn’s fifth book To Sir Phillip, With Love.
“It does feel a little bit like I have agreed to jump out of a plane in a bit,” Claudia mused, “with close-ups in the nude and in front of my mum.”

While Bridgerton is well known for its sex scenes, as stars Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha explained, they did have a few issues when it came to filming those intimate moments for season four.
“What we actually did is we both got ill,” Luke recently shared with E! News. “But different scenes. We kept falling ill!”
Yerin joked that both she and Luke being sick “tells us we were very mentally a little bit weak, a little bit nervous, my immune system was down” for the steamy takes.

“But no, in all seriousness,” the 27-year-old continued, “I do think that with those scenes, it is just an extension of an emotion, and it’s there because it has to be, not because we’re just doing a steamy scene for a steamy scene’s sake.”
And Luke agreed, adding, “Bridgerton is very good at making the scenes feel actually poetic.”
“To be able to engage with that makes it seem like it’s a scene like any other scene,” he continued. “They feel meaningful. Put it that way: They don’t feel sort of tokenistic, which then makes it much more fun.”

“We think it’s really sweet,” Coughlan told Extra of the off-camera shipping that goes on for them. “I think because we truly love each other.”
