Leeds United have been handed a potential boost in the race to sign Jorgen Stand Larsen this month following another update on Crystal Palace‘s talks.
Strand Larsen move to Crystal Palace now in jeopardy after twist
Palace’s anticipated £50 million capture of Strand Larsen has encountered serious complications, with Sky Sports reporting the deal now hangs precariously in the balance following fresh doubts emerging late Thursday evening.

Intermediaries have reportedly communicated to Wolves that Palace may be prepared to abandon negotiations entirely, although conflicting sources maintain discussions continue between both clubs.
Thursday had witnessed substantial progress, with a £45 million package plus £5 million in performance-related bonuses seemingly close to being finalised.
However, the sudden uncertainty arrives with Palace securing a loan deal for Aston Villa forward Evann Guessand.

The Eagles have made a move for a centre-forward.
That deal includes a £28 million option to buy, and some are suggesting that the south Londoners may not be able to sign both Guessand and complete a club-record deal for Strand Larsen.
This could give Leeds a timely boost after chasing the Norwegian all window, though Daniel Farke’s side have refused to exceed their £40 million offer thus far.
The Yorkshire club view this threshold as their absolute maximum, which would still establish a new club record surpassing the £35.5 million spent on Georginio Rutter in 2023.
Wolves have reportedly demanded fees approaching the £55 million Newcastle offered last summer, though the Norwegian’s disappointing campaign has undermined his market value considerably.

Just one Premier League goal across 19 appearances represents a dramatic downturn from last season’s 14-goal haul, but the race is now wide open for Strand Larsen for the second transfer window in a row.
Wantaway Eagles striker Jean-Phillippe Mateta’s future will also play a key role here, with both Nottingham Forest and AC Milan pursuing a deadline-busting deal for the Frenchman.
With Palace’s talks for Strand Larsen stalling last night, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has shared a key update on the matter.
Leeds given Strand Larsen boost after Palace talks update
According to the journalist, via X, a couple of sources have now told him that the Strand Larsen to Palace deal is completely off.
However, he stresses to see what the next few days bring, potentially suggesting that Oliver Glasner’s side could still return to the fold.
This update undoubtedly re-opens the door for Leeds to sign their top striker target, but Farke’s side also need to table an offer that satisfies Wolves.
Leeds may have no problem on the player front, with previous reports suggesting that Strand Larsen is very open to an Elland Road move.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old’s agent, Tore Pedersen, is also reliably believed to be a boyhood Whites supporter.
