Brat summer hit the big screen in winter in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

A24 hosted the L.A. premiere of Aidan Zamiri’s satirical mockumentary The Moment starring pop superstar Charli xcx — fresh from the film’s Sundance world premiere last week and a red carpet outing last night at Wuthering Heights premiere (for which she did the music) — at Fine Arts Theatre. It seemed like all the city’s cool kids were there with Moment merch (like brat-branded credit cards) and vape pens in hand.

In his brief introduction before the film, Zamiri noted how the location helped juice the festivities. “We love this film so much,” he said. “We love Los Angeles, and fortunately there are a lot of movie stars that live in Los Angeles and a lot of them are in our film, which is great. So, I great to bring them out and show them to you.”

He welcomed stars Hailey Benton Gates, Kate Berlant, Trew Mullen, Tish Weinstock and Richard Perez to the stage along with his co-writer Bertie Brandes and producer David Hinojosa. He saved a special mention for Kylie Jenner, who makes her acting debut in the film, by calling her “fabulous.”

He then welcomed out Charli xcx by saying she “was born to play” her role in The Moment, which she also produced. Zamiri noted they had a blast making the film across 26 production days. “I love this cast so much, I love this crew so much. I’m so grateful you guys get to see it here.”

Zamiri then turned his attention to Charli by saying, “Brat summer, forever?” Her answer? “Maybe!”

The L.A. location also boosted the star power in the theater. Those seated for the local premiere included stars Chappell Roan, Charli’s Sweat Tour mate Troye Sivan, Demi Lovato, Gabbriette, Matt Healy, Conan Gray, Tove Lo, Scout Willis, Avan Jogia, Meg Stalter, Simon Rex and Terrence O’Connor as well as filmmakers like Sean Baker, Sentimental Value’s Joachim Trier and Eli Roth. After the showing, the crowd high-tailed it over to Genghis Cohen on Fairfax Avenue for a packed after party.

The Moment follows Charli as she navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut and juggling the demands of a new tour documentary and its unpredictable director, played by Alexander Skarsgard.

“It felt very vulnerable because I tapped into the most extreme parts of my personality that sometimes I feel the need to hide and diminish,” Charli recently told The Hollywood Reporter’s David Canfield. “Being an artist is a really volatile thing. One minute you can be on top of the world and think you are the best and the most important person in the room with the best ideas — a generational artist — and then the next minute you can feel like a piece of shit on someone’s shoe. I really feel that in my journey as an artist. To actualize that was hard because I don’t like feeling, especially, the latter version of that. It’s scary to admit you feel like that.”
