Angry Ginge has opened up about the loss of a family member, revealing his plans to honour the late relative in a touching tribute. The I’m A Celebrity star took to social media this morning to share his intention to wear a black armband at today’s Match for Hope football game.

The tribute, he disclosed, is in memory of his late cousin Harley McNulty who tragically passed away at just 19-years-old earlier this month. Angry Ginge, also known as Morgan Burtwistle, explained that he would be donning the armband in his cousin’s memory and encouraged followers to contribute to the family’s GoFundMe page.

This comes as the 24 year old is set to play at the Match for Hope 2026 at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Qatar – a prestigious charity football event that unites online creators and football legends to raise funds for educational and charitable initiatives such as the Education Above All Foundation.

Speaking on Instagram today, January 30, he said: “Good morning ladies and gentlemen, it is match day. I can’t wait, I’m buzzing, I’m absolutely buzzing. But I just thought I’d come on here and do a quick story about tonight. I basically thought I would announce this now and then there’s less questions when I get back and you all understand why I’m wearing it. I will be wearing a black arm band like footballers do when you lose someone.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.

“So two weeks ago, one of my cousins Harley passed away, he was only 19 and a Manchester lad as usual, same place as we’re all from. So I’m wearing the arm band for him, for his family and so I thought I’d let you all know beforehand.

“He’s also got a GoFundMe if you want to donate a quid or 50p if you can or a fiver – anything you can, feel free. I’ve also donated so I’m not doing one of those things where you do and I don’t, don’t worry, but yeah it would mean the world to their family.”

Chanel Dillion, a close friend of Harley’s mum, set up the GoFundMe page to help the family cover funeral expenses. Describing Harley as the “heart and soul” of any gathering, the fundraiser has already raised over £16,000.

A black-and-white photograph depicts an individual in a contemplative pose, wearing a plain white t-shirt. The image is bordered with a subtle shadow effect, and the word "celebrating" is artistically inscribed across the foreground, suggesting a theme of commemoration or festivity. The background is intentionally blurred, directing focus towards the subject's expression and the inscription.

In her heartfelt appeal, Chanel wrote: “The smile he had could light up any room and I cannot understand or even imagine how much pain his family is going through so let’s make it as easy as it can be for them and help support them. Please give as big or as little anything will help to give him the best day possible.

“Harley sadly passed away on Saturday 10th January leaving his family and friends broken, with no words to describe or believe this has even happened. Harley was a beautiful funny, loving, mischievous, caring lad with the whole world ahead of him. He was the life and soul of the party and would light up the room with his infectious smile, funny character and let’s not forget his rapping we all know he loved a good rap.

“He was the most amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew cousin and friend to all always making everyone around him smile and laugh so let’s continue to make his family know how much he was loved and give them the support they need a this such devastating time.”
