Steel galvanising firm Galco Steel, which operates in Waterford, has been acquired by Danish company DOT.
DOT is owned by Kirk Kapital, an investment firm that manages assets of €3.3bn owned by the descendants of Lego founder Ole Kirk Christiansen.
Galco, which has been in business since the 1960s, was owned by the Quinn family until its sale.
It has two galvanising plants and a paint shop at Ballymount Industrial Estate in Dublin which is home to its headquarters.
Along with its Waterford facility on Gracedieu Road, it also has galvanising facilities in Cork, Galway and Derry.
DOT provides surface-treatment services for materials used in construction projects from offices and apartments to bridges.
