Teofimo Lopez defends his WBO super lightweight title against Shakur Stevenson in the night’s much-anticipated main event.

Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) makes his third defense of the WBO super lightweight crown he won against Josh Taylor in June 2023. A two-division world champion, Lopez previously held boxing’s unified lightweight titles, which he won against future Hall of Famer Vasiliy Lomachenko. Lopez was last in action this past May when he impressively defeated Arnold Barboza Jr. by decision at the Times Square event in New York.

Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs), the current WBC lightweight champion, steps up to super lightweight in a bid to become a four-division world champion. Stevenson is Uncrowned’s No. 8 pound-for-pound boxer in the world. He scored one of the best wins of his career when he outpointed William Zepeda in an entertaining fight this past July in New York.

Nice right-hand left hook from Davis, followed by a big right hand, which has the crowd excited for a second. Back to the body goes Davis with a jab, and a missile right hand landed on the guard. This fight looks very different from Teofimo Lopez and Vasiliy Lomachenko’s fights with Ortiz.

Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington is a world champion.

Carrington knocked out Castro in Round 9 to win the WBC featherweight title.

At the halfway point of the frame, Carrington connected with a huge overhand right, which rocked Castro. It was followed by a three-punch combination — right hand, left hook, right hand — and Castro fell heavily onto the canvas. Castro ultimately could not beat the count.

Right hand breaks the guard for Castro, but then Carrington responds with a better attack — a combination that culminates in a right hand.

The power is getting to “Shu Shu.” Stephen Fulton was dropped and badly hurt by Castro; Carrington is heading for the same fate. Lead left hook scores for Castro. Hook gets through for Castro. Quiet round with Castro having the big moment.

Both men are having success in the exchanges on the inside but on the outside, Carrington’s jab is bossing things. Brilliant right-hand left hook combination from Carrington, which forces Castro to cover up and eats some uppercuts. Terrific combination from “Shu Shu” and Castro looks STUNNED momentarily. Breakthrough for Carrington before the two-minute mark in Round 3. Left-hand counter from Castro found a home. Right hand to the body fired from Castro to end the frame.

Left hook connects for Castro early. It’s a left-hand battle in the first minute, and the hook to the body from Castro got through. Jabs from Carrington also found the target. Nice body shots and combination on the inside for Carrington; Castro responds with a left hook. Body work for Carrington, followed by a stiff jab. Terrific jab forces Castro backward to open the final minute. Left hook on the inside from Carrington was the best shot of the exchange.

Jabs from Carrington in the early stages. Nice sharp jab lands on Castro in the second minute. Now, to the body, goes “Shu Shu.” Another stiff jab connects. Carrington’s jab has been brilliant so far in this fight. Castro just cannot evade it. Castro pushes forward with a combination, but nothing landed clean. Comfortable round for Carrington.
