It was announced this week that Killarney National Park has been named as the most ‘Instagrammable’ park in Ireland.

An analysis of Instagram hashtag data found that Killarney has generated more than 132,000 tagged posts, far surpassing every other national park in the country and cementing its status as Ireland’s most photographed natural landscape.

“Killarney National Park has everything people want to capture in a single shot. Lakes, waterfalls, woodland, mountains and historic landmarks, all within easy reach of one another. It’s visually dramatic in every season, whether it’s mist over the lakes or autumn colour in the forests, making it incredibly shareable on Instagram,” said Rebecca Ryan, the marketing manager at Trailblazers.

Through their research, Trailblazers also discovered that Páirc Náisiúnta na Mara, Ciarraí, is Ireland’s largest national park at 29,000 ha while Kerry is also home to Ireland’s oldest and newest national parks, as Killarney National Park was established in 1932 and Páirc Náisiúnta na Mara in 2024.
