Tánaiste Simon Harris has pledged to overhaul the system of weather warnings and ensure flood-relief schemes are not delayed by judicial reviews, as parts of the country recover from the devastation caused by Storm Chandra.
Mr Harris also indicated yesterday that the current weather warning system needs to move away from yellow, orange and red status alerts, as they do not take into account other factors which could cause flooding and leave residents unprepared.
