RTE star Sinéad Kennedy has offered a rare insight into her family life following a recent trip to Brussels with her two children and husband Conor.

The Today show presenter divides her time between Ireland and Belgium, where her naval officer husband Conor Kirwan is stationed for work, and has revealed she enjoyed a wonderful Christmas visit with him.

Sinéad posted an adorable video from the trip on social media, featuring Indie and Theo wrapped up warmly in their winter clothes whilst enjoying an evening scooter ride, reports RSVP Live.

Sharing the footage on Instagram, Sinéad wrote: “Our home away from home. We spent a good chunk of time in Brussels over Christmas and it was glorious, It snowed the night before we flew back to Ireland.

“It was just magic.’

Sinéad has previously spoken candidly about juggling her marriage and family life with husband Conor whilst living in separate countries, acknowledging it has become more challenging, and that their time together is precious.

“You get used to it but it doesn’t mean you like it”, she told RSVP magazine.

“But when you have kids everything changes and you want to spend all your time together.

“It is hard being apart. It is hard on him not seeing the kids everyday and it is hard on me not having him around to help or when they are asking for him.

“Flights back and forth also take their toll. It is exhausting for both of us in different ways, it is hard for both of us in different ways, but that is where we are at.

“So you try not to complain and realise we are lucky, with our family and we both do jobs that we love,” she elaborated.

For now, Sinead shared that they try not to dwell too much on the distance, knowing it’s not a permanent situation.

“The long-term plan is to settle in Cork, although she confesses to having developed a fondness for Brussels during their time there.

“Obviously, the long-term plan is Cork, that will be our home but Belgium is a wonderful place to have a second home. A place I never darkened the door of before, and I highly recommend it,” she added.
