The price of a wash, cut and blow-dry in the Kingdom is 6% above the national average.
The survey, published in today’s Irish Independent, spoke to 151 independent hair salons in the country.
Of those surveyed, over half have increased their prices or plan to do so, while only 7% are unsure if they will raise the cost of treatments.
Rising input costs have been cited as the biggest reason for the price increases, with many blaming the escalation in the cost for colour products.
Nationwide, the average cost of a wash, cut and blow-dry is €52.50, and costs €56.25 on average in Kerry.
The highest prices are seen in Dublin city and Donegal, costing an average of €62.
Cheapest prices are in Leitrim, where you can expect to pay an average of €40.
The price of a men’s and children’s cut in the county is €20, on par with the national average.
