Matt McKerrow has been appointed as interim chief executive of Rowing Ireland.
The current chief executive, Michelle Carpenter, is on leave. She did not attend the hearing by the Oireachtas Committee on Sport on the culture in Irish rowing last week, and it is understood that she is on sick leave. Carpenter was not present at the Rowing Ireland Awards in Cobh on Saturday night.
McKerrow is the Governance and Planning Lead of Rowing Ireland. He was appointed in July of last year.
He was CEO of Triathlon Ireland from 2009 to 2013, left his post at Cycling Ireland in November 2022 after three-and-a-half years in charge.
McKerrow also acted as interim CEO of Hockey Ireland in 2023.
