Love is in the air as Donegal lad to appear on First Dates Ireland!

A young Donegal man will be hoping for romance to take off on First Dates Ireland in the run-up to Valentine’s Day.

The third episode of the hit dating show, airing on Thursday 12th February, will feature 25 year old Mikey Boyle, a HGV mechanic from Gweedore who is now based in Galway.

Mikey will be matched with 24 year old Molly, an airline check in agent from Dublin, for a blind date at the First Dates restaurant.

Producers have billed the pairing as a “bog versus Spire” cultural exchange, though viewers will have to decide for themselves whether opposites attract.

Molly dreams of a romantic trip to Nashville but will the combination of her winsome dimples and Mikey’s soft-spoken Gaeltacht brogue be enough to make love take flight?

Whether sparks fly or not remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, Donegal viewers will be tuning in to cheer Mikey on.

First Dates airs on Thursdays on RTÉ2, with Mikey’s episode broadcasting on the 12th February at 9.35pm.
