We took out more €780m worth of personal loans in just three months last year.

A report from the Banking and Payments Federation shows 73, 620 loans were drawn down between July and September – The highest quarterly level since 2020.

Car loans are up over 22% year on year, while green loans saw the highest growth of over 31%.

Despite the rise in borrowing overall, the average loan value fell slightly.
