A WELL-KNOWN discount retailer in Limerick city centre is preparing to close its doors, with the Dealz store at Unit 7 on Bedford Row set to cease trading on March 21.
A clearance sale began at the store on Thursday ahead of its planned closure next month.
A representative for Dealz said no other store is impacted by this closure. “It goes without saying we will do all we can to look for other opportunities for colleagues impacted by Limerick’s closure, as part of our consultation with them.”

“Dealz in the Republic of Ireland was not part of any restructuring that Poundland in the UK put in place last year – it’s court-approved restructuring programme did not cover, and has never covered, the Republic of Ireland or Isle of Man,” the Dealz representative explained.
“Poundland’s restructure-related store closure programme has concluded, with it ending 2025 with 651 locations, compared to c800 prior to reorganisation. No Republic of Ireland Dealz store was impacted by these closures.”
“Any future and current closures are a consequence of standard business-as-usual lease events expected at a retailer with a large store network, not because of the restructure. I’m afraid that’s the case in Limerick for our Dealz store – we’ve been unable to secure lease terms that would enable us to keep trading there.”
