Actor Vishal Jethwa recently shared a warm moment with Rani Mukerji as the two reunited at a special screening of Mardaani 3. The screening turned into a celebratory evening for the Mardaani team and the Hindi film industry at large, with several notable personalities in attendance. In an Instagram post, Vishal Jethwa also shared photos giving a glimpse of other celebrities who attended the screening which includes the recently launched names under YRF banner – Aneet Padda, Ahaan Panday along with stars like Rekha, Huma Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, Keerthy Suresh, among others. He captioned the same saying, “Watched Mardaani 3 last night, and Rani ma’am once again proves why she is the Queen of Bollywood. Congratulations to the whole team of #mardaani3”
Vishal Jethwa, who played the chilling antagonist in Mardaani 2, has repeatedly spoken about the impact the film and his collaboration with Rani Mukerji had on him as an actor. His performance as the young and disturbing villain was widely appreciated and is often cited as one of the most memorable aspects of the 2019 film.
Reflecting on the reunion, Vishal shared an emotional note, saying, “Mardaani will always be very special to me, and so will Rani ma’am. Working with her has been one of the most important learning experiences of my life. She leads by example with honesty, strength, and so much grace. Reuniting with her at the screening brought back so many memories, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have been a part of this journey.”
He further added, “Mardaani is Rani Mukharjee ma’am and Rani Mukharjee ma’am is Mardaani. No one can perform Shivani Shivaji Roy better then Rani ma’am. After watching Mardaani 3, she again proved that she is Rani Mukharjee for a reason I want to come back as villain in Mardaani 4”.
Mardaani 2 featured Rani Mukerji as fierce cop Shivani Shivaji Roy alongside Vishal Jethwa and Jisshu Sengupta and followed her pursuit of a serial offender. Mardaani 3, directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, continues Shivani’s journey as she investigates the mysterious disappearance of 93 young girls over a short span of time.
