Retailers say demand for the iPhone Air has tripled in recent weeks, after its price fell by around VND7 million (US$270) compared with its launch price four months ago.
“Following the price adjustment in late December 2025, demand for iPhone Air rose threefold compared with the previous period,” Nguyen Lac Huy, a spokesperson for retail chain CellPhoneS, said.
Other major chains, including FPT Shop and The Gioi Di Dong, also reported strong sales for the Air, making it a key product in their Tet holiday sales campaigns this month.
The Air, Apple’s thinnest iPhone, debuted in Vietnam in late September 2025 alongside the 17 lineup, with a starting price of VND32 million.
Since then, it has undergone several price cuts, including a reduction of nearly VND1 million in early February, bringing prices to around VND24.8–25.3 million.

The latest adjustment came alongside price cuts across the 17 lineup, with the standard version down by as much as VND700,000, while the Pro and Pro Max models were reduced by about VND600,000.
In the gray market, Air prices have moved in line with official channels and are now around VND23.5 million.
Quan Ngo, owner of an Apple-focused store in HCMC, said his shop has seen unexpected demand for the Air, with several variants currently out of stock. “Recent sales of the Air have doubled and are even higher than those of the 17,” he said.
Hoang Tuan, owner of an Apple retailer in Hanoi, northern Vietnam, said the rebound shows the revised pricing aligns more closely with consumer demand, adding that the latest developments suggest Apple mispriced the Air at launch.
