This is the second tragedy the Hogan family have had to face in just over a month, following the death of Liam’s father Colm Snr on Christmas Eve.

Liam’s sudden death has left his friends and family devastated, with his sister Kerrie paying tribute to the dad-of-four in a message shared on social media.

“We have to say goodbye to another one of our beautiful brothers, our hearts will never beat the same love you Liam Hogan,” she wrote.

Friends and family shared their own tributes to Liam in messages shared online, with one person writing: “Rest in Peace my lovely cousin Liam. We’ll hold our memories of you close & your kind & loving nature will never be forgotten. Sending all our love & strength to Auntie Mag, our cousins & Liam’s family.”

A third person said: “Thinking of Shauna and the kids and the Hogan family at this horrible time. Liam you were one in a million always making people smile and laugh you’re going to be missed pal. May you rest easy and my god give you the best bed in heaven.”

A co-worker of Liam’s added: “I am deeply saddened to hear of Liam’s passing. He was truly the best colleague I ever worked with—kind, genuine, and respected by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth and integrity left a lasting mark on all of us. Sleep tight, Liam. My sincere condolences to the Hogan family during this difficult time.

While a former classmate of Liam’s said: “Sending my deepest condolences to all of Liam’s family, and friends. He was always a warm, gentle and funny character throughout our school years. He will be remembered for his great wit and even greater sense of humour. May he rest in peace.”

A funeral mass will be held for Liam on Monday at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rochfortbridge, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium in Cavan.
