Manchester City kept the Premier League title race alive on Sunday evening, producing a late comeback to defeat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield.
This was an entertaining game, one which either side could have won. City were the better team in the opening half, although they failed to take a lead into the interval.
Liverpool would improve in the second half, eventually taking the lead thanks to a magnificent free-kick from Dominic Szoboszlai.

While Manchester City’s title charge looked to be done at this stage, there was some late drama to come. They would equalise a few minutes later through Bernardo Silva, before Erling Haaland would the game from the penalty spot in injury time.

This was a massive result for Manchester City, keeping their title hopes alive as they moved to within six points of Arsenal.
Their players and coaching staff were rightly in a jovial mood after the game, celebrating both on the pitch and in the dressing room at Anfield.
That included blaring loud music in the changing room after the game, something that could be heard clearly during some of the post-match interviews on Sky Sports.
“Anyone who’s been in this stadium for the last eight years knows that if Mo Salah is in that position it’s a goal!”

Speaking on the channel, Keane said that while City were right to celebrate the result, their actions on this occasion crossed into the ‘disrespectful’ category.
Listen, it will be interesting to see if the music is on when Pep does his talk.
Man City are entitled to enjoy themselves, but you also have to show a bit of respect.
Turn the music down when people are doing press interviews. Ridiculous.
The Irishman was also highly critical of a Liverpool player’s role in Man City’s win.
Alisson Becker would give away a penalty after a rash challenge on Matheus Nunes in the box, fouling the Portugal international at a time when he looked to be offering very little danger.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Roy Keane hammered the Liverpool goalkeeper for what he thought was a ‘crazy’ call late on.
I think it’s one of them ones with the goalkeeper sometimes, I know he’s an experienced goalkeeper, they get bored sometimes, even in a big game.
You say to a goalkeeper sometimes ‘mind your business’, that almost had nothing to do with him. He went looking for trouble, a crazy decision for an experienced goalkeeper.
If a young goalkeeper did that you’d go ‘okay a lack of experience, naïve’, but to do that?
Just slow it down.
This was certainly a bizarre decision from a top class goalkeeper.
Liverpool will aim to bounce back from this defeat when they travel to take on Sunderland in this midweek, with three points in that fixture looking like a must if they hope to avoid being cut adrift in the Champions League race.
