Twitter/X’s top tipster fancies a Sunday battle at Brighton.

Any derby named after a motorway opens itself up to question from the neutral, but this all-M23 clash has been a consistent Premier League institution since 2017, and whatever we may think of it, there’s no doubt it’ll have an extra degree of spice on Sunday. For their part, Brighton could inject new life into their thrust for Europe, while also keeping Crystal Palace in some theoretical danger of relegation.

Even a mere point for Palace puts them into the 30s, and it would to take a lot to see them caught by 18th-placed West Ham. Top tipster Andy Robson delivers a tasty Bet Builder for Brighton v Crystal Palace, featuring three player picks covered by Paddy’s Super Sub offer, where any eligible bet made on a specific player carries over to their direct replacement if they get subbed off. Here we go…

Brighton v Crystal Palace

When: Sunday, February 8th @ 2pm
Where: Amex Stadium, Brighton & Hove
TV: Sky Sports Premier League

Chadi Riad to be shown a card

Marc Guehi’s exit created a significant gap in Palace’s defence. Jaydee Canvot was chosen to start against Chelsea, but endured a tough afternoon. His error led to a goal, he later conceded a penalty, and was substituted after 65 minutes. The young defender was subsequently benched against Nottingham Forest, with Chadi Riad getting the nod instead.

Riad, signed from Real Betis in the summer of 2025, made just his second Premier League start for the Eagles last weekend. The Morocco international has been hampered by injuries, and this was his first start of the campaign. He appeared somewhat rusty, as expected, and received a first half yellow for a late foul. He is, however, likely to retain his place in the starting line up.

Facing the elusive Yankuba Minteh poses a serious challenge for the centre back, making a few cynical fouls look likely, and hopefully a card.

Ismaila Sarr 1+ shots on target

Ismaila Sarr was reintegrated into Palace’s first team against Chelsea after his AFCON triumph with Senegal. He successfully landed this selection in that match with a shot on target, managing three attempts overall.

He built on that performance by scoring the only goal against Nottingham Forest, from the penalty spot. Jean-Philippe Mateta remains at the club after a January move collapsed, but the Frenchman is unavailable this weekend after undergoing surgery. Sarr should continue as the designated penalty taker.

The 27-year-old boasts nine goals in 22 appearances across all competitions this season. He averages 2.03 shots per 90 minutes and is typically accurate with his efforts. Sarr also scored a brace the last time he faced Brighton at the AMEX, with five shots and three on target.

Carlos Baleba 2+ fouls won

Carlos Baleba is another who has returned to Premier League action after AFCON, slotting straight back into Brighton’s starting XI. He was fouled three times against Everton last time, maintaining his average of 1.11 fouls drawn per 90 across all competitions this season.

That average rises to 1.28 fouls drawn per 90 at the AMEX, where Brighton typically enjoy more possession. Baleba has landed this selection in both full 90 minute appearances at home, and he also holds a strong record against Palace.

The Cameroonian was fouled four times when the sides last met at the AMEX, and he drew three free-kicks in the reverse fixture at Selhurst Park last season. The Eagles tend to be combative in midfield, and Baleba should find plenty of duels against Adam Wharton and Jefferson Lerma.
