The owner of a barber shop in Gorey is urging people to be vigilant after he found the windows to his business had been smashed and damaged.
Sujan Ghimire, the owner of Everest Barber located on Gorey Main Street said he arrived at work on Friday morning to discover the windows and side door entrance to the building had been smashed on Thursday night, January 29.

Reviewing CCTV footage, which Sujan said wasn’t quite clear, he understood the windows and door were smashed by an individual a total of three times at 11.07 p.m., who then left the scene. “They smashed the window and the side door and then left,” he said.
Fortunately, Sujan said the business was not broken into, and no equipment or items were stolen from the business. Sujan added that he was unsure why something like this could have happened and said he had just returned to Gorey after spending some time away on holiday.

Sujan is originally from Nepal and opened Everest Barber in 2024. He has been living in Gorey for the past eight years and has plenty of experience in the hair cutting business as he worked in Grafton Barber in Dublin for over ten years. He also ran Grafton Barber in Gorey for four years.
The incident has been reported to Gorey Garda Station who are currently looking into the situation, reviewing CCTV footage. Gardaí are asking anybody with any relevant information to contact Gorey Garda Station at 053 943 0690.
