A Co Dublin man, who described himself as an unemployed roofer in a €60,000 hit-and-run damages claim, today denied in the Circuit Civil Court that he was a “serial entrepreneur” with businesses in Ireland and Spain.

David Gilligan (33) of Greenfort Crescent, Clondalkin, also denied having known he had been deliberately targeted in a rear-ending collision by several individuals, one of whom jumped onto the bonnet of his Mercedes and kicked in the windscreen as he lay dazed in the car.
