Both entrances to Teffia Park were closed off to traffic on Monday night.
Gardaí have launched a major investigation into the circumstances behind a double stabbing in a midlands town that has left two men in a serious condition in hospital.
The pair, who are aged in their late 30s and 20s respectively, were assaulted in Longford town at around 9pm on Monday night.
Gardaí sealed off an area close to the town’s Teffia Park estate after the incident.

A second scene outside Longford Garda Station was also cordoned off after the younger of the two victims was found dumped just yards from the front entrance to the station.
Forensic officers carried out an examination of the latter scene where the man, who is from the Galway area, was treated and subsequently rushed to Mullingar’s Midland Regional Hospital.

Officers attached to the Garda Armed Support Unit (ASU) were also drafted in overnight as unformed officers and detectives carried out door-to-door enquiries in the area.
One line of inquiry is the violent scenes may have been prompted by an ongoing feud that has steadily intensified between two warring factions in the midlands town over recent weeks.
“Gardaí are investigating following an alleged incident of assault that occurred in the Longford Town area on Monday 9th February, 2026 at approximately 9pm,” said a garda spokesperson.
“Two males (20s and 30s) received serious injuries and were taken to Mullingar Hospital for treatment.

“Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam and were travelling in the area of Teffia Park, Longford, at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.”
