Hollywood star Woody Harrelson stunned staff and punters at a Limerick bar over the weekend after popping in to reprise his Cheers role.

The Natural Born Killers star, 64, was on the lookout for some vegan food when he popped into The Green Yard Café and Punch’s Bar just outside of Limerick City Centre on Sunday afternoon, after his electric car ran out of battery while on route to Killarney, local media reports.

The True Detective actor was happy to take pictures with amazed admirers in the Limerick eatery, after he ordered up a buddha bowl and poured a pint along with singing the Cheers theme.

Management were quick to post a picture and video of the No Country For Old Men cast member pulling himself a pint of Guinness behind the bar, alongside the caption: “Where everybody knows your name”.

Harrelson, just days ago, also delighted fans in Derry after popping into the Bishops Gate Hotel, posing for a picture with staff.

They wrote last Friday: “We know that some of our younger followers may not recognise how the song lyrics above links to the guest in our photo but we know many will still know him from his many other roles such as The Hunger Games, True Detective and Now You See Me, to name just a few.

“Our team were very surprised to see Hollywood Star Woody Harrelson arrive in for a short unplanned visit yesterday and were very grateful that Mr Harrelson allowed our team members Clare and Keoni to capture a quick photo.”
