In what has been deemed ‘a significant blow’ to the local retail offering, Muiri K Boutique in Dungarvan has announced its closure.
After 18 years of trading, proprietors Michelle and Muireann will move the boutique online.
Doors will close at its current location at 16 O’Connell Street.
However, their dedicated showroom for Christening, Communion, and Confirmation will continue.
Closure
Michelle and Muireann noted the changing face of retail habits and the challenges that brings.
“There is only so much you can do but when it’s time to go, it’s time to go and you can’t beat evolution.”
Reflecting on some of the factors contributing to their decision, they said:
“Parking; my customers are complaining they don’t have the flexibility they enjoyed in the past.
Footfall has dropped dramatically since the pandemic.
Buying online is the easier option/the rise of foreign fast fashion websites.”
A closing down sale will be run by Muiri K Boutique.
Additionally, those with gift vouchers are urged to use them as soon as possible.
