It’s not quite the bar from Cheers, where his character Woody Boyd spent eight seasons pulling pints as part of one of the most successful TV shows of all time, but acting star Woody Harrelson was equally at home right here in Kerry at the weekend, where he enjoyed a night out in PF McCarthy’s bar in Kenmare.

The 64-year-old actor, also known for his roles in the acclaimed first season of True Detective and the smash-hit movie franchise, The Hunger Games, made a surprise visit to the popular watering hole late on Sunday night and was only too delighted to sing a rendition or two of classic songs when called upon by musicians Tracy O’Grady and Suzanne Gaine.
