Vinod Khanna was one of the legendary actors in Bollywood. Often referred to as the ultimate screen Adonis, the superstar always left everyone’s jaw dropped with his looks, sculpted jawline and charm. And, this time, OG Ramba Ho Girl Kalpana Iyer couldn’t agree more. On being asked what her reaction was when she first saw Vinod Khanna, Kalpana Iyer quipped, “I died”. And that’s the aura of Vinod Khanna.

He was the defining star of the 1970s and 1980s. Started his career in 1968, playing villainous and supporting roles in films like Mera Gaon Mera Desh and Mere Apne before becoming a leading man. Vinod Khanna rose to fame in the late 70s after his hit movies, including Qurbani, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Muqaddar Ka Sikandar.

Going forward, Kalpana Iyer stated that nowadays actors might have abs and gym bodies, but nobody can come close to the effortless swag and aura of Vinod Khanna.
For the unversed, Kalpana Iyer worked with Vinod Khanna in the 1981 movie Kudrat. Directed by Chetan Anand, the movie also stars Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Raaj Kumar and Priya Rajvansh in major roles.
In a separate interview with IANS, she praised Vinod Khanna as a wonderful and polite person. She described him as never being angry or upset with anyone. “He was always polite, always gentle, always with a pleasant smile. I have never seen him be angry or upset with anybody.”
“Apart from Kudrat, I also knew him at a personal level for a very long time. It was not like we used to meet every day, but whenever I met him, he was very respectful. Some people have an amazing value system, and Vinod sahab was one of them. For me, he will always be a very, very enduring, wonderful, and lovely memory,” Kalpana added.Vinod Khanna also battled lung cancerLegendary actor and politician Vinod Khanna died in 2017 after battling bladder cancer. His second wife, Kavita Khanna, has recently shared that he was first diagnosed with lung cancer in 2001 due to his heavy smoking habit.
