Gardaí are investigating a crash on the M18 in Galway which is believed to have been fatal.
The crash happened between junction 16 (Gort) and 17 (Ardrahan) on the M18 at around 1.30pm on Tuesday, February 11, and the road was closed for a number of hours.
The section of road has since reopened.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana gave a statement to the Irish Independent which read: “An Garda Síochána is investigating a road traffic incident that occurred on the M18 at Gort, Co. Galway on Tuesday February 10, 2026.
“Due to the specific nature of this incident An Garda Síochána will not be making any further comment at this time.”
