Irish author Chloe Walsh’s bestselling Boys of Tommen series is being adapted for the small screen, with Prime Video confirming it has commissioned a TV version.

Walsh, who is from Cork, is set to have her BookTok-trending series adapted by the producers behind The Summer I Turned Pretty, One Day and Twilight.

Set against the backdrop of a fictional town in Cork and the prestigious halls of Tommen College, the romantic drama follows a forbidden romance between Johnny Kavanagh, the charismatic star of the rugby team, and Shannon Lynch, a gifted but painfully shy newcomer navigating the pressures of a new school.

Series one will be based on the first two novels in Walsh’s series, Binding 13 and Keeping 13 and adapted by Poppy Cogan (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder).

Walsh said she was thrilled the series has been greenlit for television.

“The response from readers around the world has been overwhelming, and knowing that everyone behind this production and book shares my passion for telling this story authentically means the world to me,” she said.

Producers involved include wiip, Temple Hill and Drama Republic, with local production services in Ireland provided by Metropolitan.

Boys of Tommen will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. No release date has been announced.
