Spider-Man will appear multiple times in live-action in 2026, and the first of them will be before the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s next movie. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies make up one of the best franchises within the MCU. Given their box office success and critical acclaim, it stands to reason that many more are to come. Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s story opens the door for that.

According to Holland, the upcoming MCU movie marks the start of a new chapter in Peter Parker’s life. Before audiences get to see Holland’s Spider-Man interact with the Hulk, the Punisher, and more when Brand New Day releases in July, it has now been confirmed that another version of Spider-Man will debut in live-action. It might not be in the MCU, but it’s just as exciting.

A Live-Action Spider-Man Appearance Happens Before Brand New Day

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31. While we still do not have an exact date for the other live-action Spider-Man release of 2026, Prime Video’s Spider-Noir has been officially confirmed in an Esquire profile to land on the streaming service this spring. As such, the live-action Spider-Man series will be released before the MCU movie.

Nicolas Cage stars in Spider-Noir as Ben Reilly, the live-action series’ version of Spider-Man Noir, who goes by The Spider in the show. Cage famously played a version of Spider-Man Noir in animated form in Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The series will follow an older Marvel hero who works as a private investigator in a gritty 1930s New York City.

The live-action Spider-Man series offers a completely new experience that is unlike anything we have seen before from the wall-crawler from Marvel or Sony. Prime Video’s Spider-Noir will also feature multiple Spider-Man villains from Marvel Comics, such as Sandman, played by Jack Huston, and Silvermane, played by Brendan Gleeson. While the change from Peter Parker to Ben Reilly might upset some, Spider-Noir looks intriguing.

Could Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Appear Elsewhere In 2026?

While Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man Noir appears in another live-action release that is not Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, there is still a chance that the same could ring true for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in 2026. The most unlikely option would be for Peter to show up in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. While rights issues should complicate that, Spider-Man fighting Kingpin to free New York would make sense.

That said, if Holland is to appear as the Marvel hero in another 2026 release that is not Spider-Man: Brand New Day, then it most likely would come in December. Avengers: Doomsday will bring together characters from the MCU and the larger Marvel multiverse. Given his popularity and key role in the franchise, Holland’s Spider-Man could be a surprise reveal for the MCU’s next Avengers movie.
