One of the things we pride ourselves on here at Bandcamp is human curation. Discovery happens on Bandcamp because music fans are recommending music they love to other music fans. Maybe you discover a great new album because someone you follow on Bandcamp bought it; maybe you find it through a story on Bandcamp Daily, or through our Substack, or through a video on our Instagram. Whatever the case, it’s safe to say that however you discover music on Bandcamp, there’s a real live human behind it.

That also goes for Bandcamp’s Radio Shows, a crucial source of discovery on Bandcamp for well over a decade now. Our Bandcamp Selects show, which appears every Monday, is hosted by DJ Gilla and Tina Edwards, who trade off every week bringing you the best in jazz, soul, hip-hop, and other music from all over the world. And on alternating Fridays, we’ve got either Stoney Creation behind the mic for the hip-hop show, or Brad Sanders’ face-melting metal show.

And so we’re happy to announce the addition of two new radio shows, kicking off Wednesday, February 25 with a new Electronic Music show hosted by Emily Dust. Emily is the host of the critically acclaimed podcast Dances for Buildings, where she speaks to DJs all over the world about where they play and why. She’s also behind a number of incredible BBC documentaries—including one on Berlin club culture and another in which she travels to Durban, South Africa to showcase the thriving gqom scene. And on top of all that, she DJs all over the world, across the UK, Europe, Africa, Brazil, and more. We are beyond thrilled to have Emily aboard.

We’ve also got an all-new Indie Show hosted by our very own Senior Editor Mariana Timony. Mariana is the force behind Bandcamp’s swiftly growing Substack, and she’s been part of the Bandcamp Daily team for close to a decade now. Her knowledge of all things indie is unparalleled, and you can expect her show to be the perfect mix of acts who operate free of the hype cycle, just delivering great song after great song. Mariana’s first show will be Wednesday, March 4, and she and Emily will trade off the Wednesday slot every other week. And as if all that’s not enough! Editor Zoe Camp will be doing a quarterly show dedicated to Video Game Music, chatting with the composers behind the music for some of today’s most captivating indie games, and shining a light on the scores they create.

We could not be more excited to kick off these new shows, and we hope you’ll mark your calendars and tune in.
