Two men lying on a floor with serious expressions. One wears green scrubs, the other a shirt and tie. Bright arrows on white floor.

Grab your stethoscopes and prepare your liver for some serious appletini consumption, the Scrubs revival trailer has officially landed, and it’s like 2004 never ended (except for the back pain). After years of Bill Lawrence teasing us on Twitter and Zach Braff and Donald Faison milking their chemistry on every podcast and T-Mobile commercial available, the first look at the ABC revival is finally here.

The Bromance is Back (And Slightly More Fragile)

The trailer opens exactly where it should: with J.D. (Zach Braff) and Turk (Donald Faison) attempting an iconic “Eagle!” move in the Sacred Heart parking lot. Spoilers: Turk’s lower back is not what it was in Season 4. It’s a pitch-perfect opening that signals exactly what this revival is, a high-energy, slightly graying return to the surrealist medical comedy that defined a generation of TV.

While the “med school” reboot of Season 9 remains the Voldemort of the franchise (we don’t speak its name), this new 9-episode run seems to be a direct spiritual successor to the Season 8 finale. J.D. is back at Sacred Heart, but he isn’t the wide-eyed intern anymore. He’s the mentor, which is a terrifying thought for anyone who remembers his obsession with “hairmets.”

New Faces, Same Dr. Cox Sass

The Scrubs revival cast is a mix of the heavy hitters and some inspired new blood. John C. McGinley returns as Dr. Cox, and based on the thirty seconds of footage we have, he hasn’t lost a step in his ability to dismantle J.D.’s soul with a single syllable. The trailer highlights a passing of the torch, with Cox demanding J.D. “ruin these interns’ lives” just as he did for him.

Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke): Looking far more put-together than the rest of the staff combined.

Carla (Judy Reyes): Still the only person capable of keeping Turk in line.

Sibby (Vanessa Bayer): A “wellness administrator” who looks poised to be the perfect foil for the hospital’s chaotic energy.

The Todd (Robert Maschio): Yes, the high-fives are still happening, and yes, they are still inappropriate.

Why This Revival Actually Matters

In an era of lazy TV reboots, Scrubs feels like it has a reason to exist. Set to the pulse of Britney Spears’ “Gimme More,” the trailer promises a show that acknowledges how much the medical world has changed while keeping its signature whimsical daydreams. It’s snappy, it’s colorful, and it’s leaning heavily into the “found family” trope that made the original run a cult classic.

The Scrubs revival release date is set for Wednesday, February 25, on ABC, with streaming following on Hulu. If the trailer is any indication, we’re in for a season filled with “Guy Love,” existential dread, and hopefully, a Janitor cameo that scares us all back into our place.

Sacred Heart is officially back in session. Don’t forget to pack your pudding pops.

Do you think the new intern class will actually stick this time, or are we only here for the original cast reunions?
