Head coach Andy Farrell is set to make several changes to his Ireland side for this weekend’s Six Nations Round 2 clash with Italy at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
The men in green were well beaten by France in the opening round and will be looking to bounce back with a big performance for their first home game of 2026.
According to Gerry Thornley in The Irish Times, Farrell looks set to make as many as six changes to his team, with one eye also on England next week.
Ulster pair Cormac Izuchukwu and Robert Baloucoune are in line to start, as is James Lowe, who missed out to Jacob Stockdale last week, as well as Craig Casey, who came off the bench in Paris.
Munster’s Edwin Edogbo could also be set for his international debut, with the towering lock in line for a spot on the bench.
Ireland (possible) v Italy: Osborne; Baloucoune, Ringrose, McCloskey, Lowe; S Prendergast, Casey; Loughman, Sheehan, Clarkson; McCarthy, Ryan; Izuchukwu, Doris (capt), Conan.
Replacements: Kelleher, O’Toole, Furlong, Edogbo, Beirne, Timoney, Gibson-Park, Crowley.
